- Sleepy John's Real Southern Grub
A Blues inspired fleet of food trucks serving the very best Southern Grub. - The challenge given to us was to find a way to creatively bridge the gap between Blues Music and the Food Service Industry. Our inspiration for this project came from lots of Blues listening as well as research into the spirit and culture surrounding traditional Blues music. Focusing on the nomadic nature of Blues and the roots of where it came from, we thought the perfect vessel for bridging the gap between food and blues was a food truck fleet. We then focused on finding a Blues icon for us to fixate upon and dedicate this project to. Through our research, we discovered 'Sleepy' John Estes; an ever-talented voice of early blues. Not only were his songs appropriate to the subject matter we were looking for; ie. a nomadic sort of nature, but he has an awesome name! Upon researching John himself we discovered he was from Tennessee, which to us screamed Southern Food and especially BBQ. From there, Sleepy John's fleet of Southern Cookin' food trucks was born!Collaboration between Drew Rios and Alex Garey.

- Initial drawings of the 'spirit' of Southern food and Blues.

- Take out box photos taken at a local BBQ joint, Nancy's BBQ. Props to them for letting us use their boxes!*Everything you see on the boxes was added by us later.

- Detail of the Pit Stop sticker on top of the to-go box. Each truck has it's own sticker to go atop the universal Sleepy John's to-go boxes as well as on the shirts.

- Sleepy John's staff shirts featuring a Pit Stop button.

- App is a WIP, currently featuring a truck finding system. We soon will have a contributable photo gallery, menus for all trucks updated daily, as well as a feed to see who's saying what about which truck and a personal Sleepy John's profile.

- Poster for the Blues Festival 'Easin Back to Memphis' featuring John Estes himself. This festival also doubles as a 'Fleet Meet' for our food trucks to come together in celebration of Blues. Brand to be expanded upon in a separate project.
